Summary
Verduni has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We do not collect personal data. Your reading, lookups, bookmarks, files and progress stay on your device.
Stored on your device
Saved documents, imported PDFs, eBooks and images, lookup history, bookmarks, profile name and picture, settings, free allowances and learning progress are stored only in the app's storage on your device. They are not uploaded to us. Deleting the app removes them; device backups are managed by Apple under your iCloud settings.
Camera, photos and files
Text in photos and scanned pages is recognised on your device with Apple's Vision framework. Opening a PDF, eBook or image does not upload the file. Camera and photo access are used only when you choose to scan or import, and can be withdrawn in iOS Settings.
Dictionary and language downloads
Word lookups and saved sentence translations use dictionaries and language packs stored on your device. Verduni downloads these packs from our server hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver a download, Cloudflare necessarily receives connection information such as your IP address, the time and the requested file. This information is used only to deliver and secure the download; we do not use it to identify you or build a profile. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Voice input and reading aloud
The microphone button uses Apple's speech recognition. Depending on your device and language, Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple's privacy policy. The recognised text stays in Verduni and is not sent to us. Reading aloud uses the voices installed on your device.
Purchases
Premium purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. Verduni only receives whether a purchase is active, to unlock Premium. We never receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings or in Verduni under Profile → Manage subscription.
Support messages
If you email us, we use your message and email address only to answer you, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Legal grounds
Delivering downloads and answering support requests is based on providing the service you asked for (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)); keeping downloads secure is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us using the details above; we generally respond within one month. You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority in the EU country where you live or work.
Children
Verduni does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
We will update this page if the app's data handling changes.
