Verduni provides language learning through reading, dictionary lookups, PDF and eBook import, image scanning, and vocabulary practice. Reading languages include English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese. These terms describe use of the service alongside the purchase details shown by Google Play. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Offline and online dictionary access
Word lookups use installed dictionaries and language packs for the selected Learn and Translate to languages. Availability varies by language pair, word and inflected form. Installing a pack does not guarantee a translation for every word or paragraph.
Collection context translations use prepared offline article data when available. Imported documents and news offer available dictionary meanings and alternative translations rather than generated context translations. Quick Translate uses on-device models for supported pairs and may use an online fallback for unsupported pairs, as described in the Privacy Policy. Voice input uses the device’s speech-recognition provider. Downloads, online translation, external links and purchases may require internet access.
Free access
The free reading allowance lets you unlock two A1 or Original reading articles and return to them without expiry. One new free news article can be unlocked every two calendar months, measured from your most recent new free news unlock. Previously unlocked news is not charged against the next allowance. Availability of a news item still depends on its remaining in the catalogue. Free unlocks are stored locally and are not a separate cloud account. Camera and PDF word-translation allowances are four word lookups each. Testing builds may lift these limits. Other restrictions and included features are described in the app before purchase.
Subscriptions and lifetime purchase
Monthly and annual subscriptions provide the Premium features described at checkout while the subscription remains valid. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled through Google Play. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal; access continues for the paid period, subject to refunds and applicable law.
Lifetime is a single, non-recurring payment for continuing access to the Premium entitlement purchased, without a scheduled renewal or expiry. It is associated with your Google Play account and can be restored through the app using that account. It does not promise every future article will remain available or uninterrupted third-party news delivery. Any change to purchased benefits remains subject to your contract and statutory rights; this paragraph does not permit arbitrary withdrawal of paid access.
The final price, currency, taxes and billing period shown in Google Play checkout apply. App preview prices do not override checkout. Changes to prices do not retroactively charge an existing lifetime purchase.
Cancellation, withdrawal and remedies
You may have statutory withdrawal rights for online purchases, generally including a 14-day period for EU consumers, subject to the rules for the particular digital content or service. Any loss of a withdrawal right requires the conditions imposed by law, including relevant express consent and acknowledgement; merely reading these terms does not waive it. Use Google Play purchase support or contact us to request a refund or exercise rights. Statutory remedies for defective or non-conforming digital content and services remain available.
Content and permitted use
Use documents and other material only where you have the necessary rights. Dictionary, collection article, image and news source licences and attribution are shown in the app; those licences govern the material they cover. Purchasing Premium does not grant ownership of third-party content. Do not interfere with service security or use the service unlawfully. Nothing here restricts uses permitted by law or an applicable open licence.
Learning material and availability
Translations, difficulty estimates and AI-assisted summaries can contain mistakes. They are learning aids, not professional advice or certified language assessments. Check original sources for important facts and publication dates. News availability depends on source permissions and service availability. Required contractual quality, updates, remedies and liability protections are not excluded.
Changes and support
We may maintain and improve Verduni while respecting existing contractual and statutory rights. Material changes to paid services will follow applicable notice, consent and cancellation requirements.
